| We're working hard to make our new centre as "green" as possible. One of the initiatives we're pursuing is putting double-glazing on all the windows. This will reduce our regular need for heating and cooling and make a contribution to our environment. To sponsor the double-glazing will cost R100 000. |

| It's been a rough year financially, but we trust that Hashem has blessed us this Rosh Hashanah with much brocha for the coming year. Jews believe that giving generously on Simchas Torah and unbridled rejoicing bring us financial brocha in the New Year. As we do each year, we auction off certain of the honours of Simchas Torah. Below are the various opportunities and the respective opening bids. Shemini Atzeres, Friday night, 9 October Leading the Atoh Horeisa (the first set of verses said in honour of the Torah) Opening price: R770 Opening the Ark for Hakafos (opening the Ark represents opening the gates of Heaven, especially potent for the husband of an expectant mother, this honour is meant to bring blessing for an easy birth) Opening price: R770 Holding the 1st Torah at Hakofos (one who honours the Torah is honoured by G-d) Opening price: R1000 Simchas Torah Evening, Saturday night, 10 October Leading the First Atoh Horeisa Opening price: R770 Leading the Second Atoh Horeisa Opening price: R770 Leading the Third Atoh Horeisa Opening price: R770 Opening the Ark for Hakafos Opening price: R1000 Holding the first Torah at Hakofos Opening price: R1800 Holding the first Torah at the 7th Hakofah Opening price: TBA Simchas Torah Day, Sunday 11 Oct.
